One sign-in for every tool your team uses

Why we built Bifröst Orbit: one place for sign-in, people and access, with every tool your organisation adds sharing the same foundation. Orbit itself is free.

Most organisations don't choose to run on twenty systems. It happens one sensible decision at a time. Marketing picks a CMS. HR picks a hiring tool. Someone builds a booking system. Each is good at its job, and each arrives with its own accounts, its own permissions and its own idea of who your people are.

Bifröst Orbit starts from a different idea. Give those tools one shared foundation, so people sign in once, access is decided in one place and every new tool is ready for your team on its first day.

The hidden cost of tool sprawl

The cost of many tools is rarely the subscription. It's the work around them:

  • Joiners and leavers: Every new person needs an account in every system, and every leaver needs removing from each one. Miss one and a former colleague still has access.
  • Permissions that drift: Each tool has its own roles. Over time, nobody is sure who can change what, or why.
  • Records in many places: When something goes wrong, the trail of who changed what is split across systems with different logs.
  • Connections that break: Tools that need to talk are wired together one pair at a time, and each connection is one more thing to maintain.

None of this shows up on a pricing page, but your IT team and your managers feel it every week.

How Bifröst Orbit is built

The platform has a centre, products around it and a bridge between them.

Orbit, the centre

Orbit holds what every tool needs and nobody wants to set up twice: who your people are, which organisations and regions they belong to, how they sign in and what they may open. Owners and admins add people once, give them a role and choose which products they can use. Remove someone once and they lose access everywhere.

Satellites, each with one job

The products are called satellites. CMS Orbit, a headless CMS for websites and apps, is available today. Presence, Careers, Travel, Booking, Commerce and Insights are planned. Each satellite is its own application with its own data, and each trusts Orbit for sign-in and access instead of keeping its own copy of your people.

Orbit Exchange, the bridge

When something happens in one satellite, such as a page going live, it is announced as an event with a fixed, versioned shape. Orbit Exchange carries it to the other satellites and to your own systems. Events that can't be delivered straight away are kept and retried, and the Exchange page in Orbit shows where each one went. Products never reach into each other's databases, so one can be down without taking the others with it.

One sign-in that fits your organisation

There are no Bifröst Orbit passwords. A new organisation starts with six-digit codes sent by email. When you're ready, add single sign-on (SSO) with your own Microsoft Entra ID app or your Google Workspace domains, and require it for your email domains, so nobody can get round it with an email code.

With Microsoft SSO, access can follow your roles in Entra. Map an app role to a role and the satellites it gives. Take that role away in Microsoft and the access goes at the person's next sign-in. The guide to choosing how your people sign in walks through it.

Everything waiting for you in one place

Home in Orbit brings together tasks, search results, notifications and recent changes from every satellite. A review to approve, a page due for a check or a mention lands in one inbox, so nothing waits in a tool nobody opened today.

Status shows the health of each satellite and its recent incidents. If one satellite is down, Orbit keeps working and tells you what's missing.

Orbit is free

We don't charge for the foundation. Orbit and Orbit Exchange are free for every organisation, with no limit on members: sign-in, single sign-on, people, roles, regions and events between satellites.

You pay for each satellite you use, and each has its own plans. CMS Orbit costs €49 a month on Starter, or €41 a month billed yearly. Growth costs €199 a month, or €166 a month billed yearly. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, with no card. Adding a satellite never changes the price of the others. See pricing for what each plan includes.

What it looks like in practice

Take a retailer with shops in Germany and Switzerland. Its admin connects Microsoft Entra ID once and requires it for everyone at example.com. The marketing team opens CMS Orbit with the sign-in they already use, with the regions they work in. When it adds another satellite later, there are no new accounts to create: the same people, roles and regions are already there.

When someone in marketing publishes a new page, CMS Orbit records it as an event. The retailer's website hears about it through a signed webhook and refreshes the page. Status in Orbit shows anything still waiting to be delivered.

Where to start

Create your organisation, invite your team and choose how they sign in. Then start a CMS Orbit trial and publish your first page. If you'd like to see it first, talk to us and a person on our team will show you around. You can also read more about how the platform fits together.

See it with your own team.

Orbit is free. Try CMS Orbit for 14 days with your own content, no card needed, or ask us anything.
